65 years ago, Principal Zhang Fangjie laid a solid foundation for Yangmei Junior High School with the spirit of the “Seventh Class.” The campus consists of the principal’s dormitories (Building A and Building B) and the faculty dormitory complex (Building C), comprising three buildings. The architectural style features sloping roof timber structures and reinforced brick construction. The restoration of the campus includes the construction of new roof timber structures, interior space adjustments and repairs, structural safety reviews and enhancements, repairs to the interior and exterior walls, new construction and repairs of doors and windows, new installations of related infrastructure (electricity, telecommunications, surveillance, security, plumbing, and fire protection), and landscape design for outdoor gardens, among others.

In the future, the campus will focus on “art, creativity, and Hakka cultural education,” carrying on the spirit of Principal Zhang and the teachings of Yangmei Junior High School teachers. It will feature spaces for a children’s story house, creative teaching areas, small exhibition spaces, creative workshops, multi-purpose performance spaces, picture book libraries, Yangmei I-Center, unique light dining spaces, and cultural/commemorative gift shops, among other reuse spaces.
