Opening Ceremony of “Qing He Yun”: The Former Residence of Liu Qing-He
On December 12, 2025, “Qing He Yun – The Former Residence of Liu Qing-He,” located on Hangzhou South Road in Taipei, celebrated its official opening. As a designated historic building of Taipei City, the residence has stood quietly within the city’s alleys for decades, witnessing the ever-changing urban landscape.
To preserve the cultural value of this historic space, driven by the Qing He Yun team and supported by the Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau, the grand opening ceremony was held on the morning of December 12th. The event was attended by many cultural figures, community representatives, and local dignitaries, all gathering to witness this new chapter for the historic structure.
Hosted by the owner’s team, the warm and elegant ceremony marked the beginning of the old house’s new cultural mission. Guests were guided through the indoor exhibition areas, where they rediscovered Mr. Liu Qing-He’s life story and the historical background of his era through text, images, and spatial narratives, experiencing the fresh atmosphere and cultural depth of the revitalized home.
This revitalization project was led by Ching Ya Chi Architects, responsible for design and site supervision, with Ching Jyun Construction Co., Ltd. serving as the general contractor. While honoring the original architectural language, the team seamlessly integrated preservation, renovation, and exhibition requirements. By artfully blending historical charm with modern architectural elements, the space not only preserves historical memory but also accommodates contemporary cultural activities.
Moving forward, “Qing He Yun – The Former Residence of Liu Qing-He” will serve as a vital hub for cultural promotion, educational exhibitions, and community exchange. We look forward to engaging the public through diverse activities, allowing more people to connect with this urban cultural story. The opening of the residence symbolizes another step forward in Taipei’s efforts toward historic preservation and cultural regeneration, ensuring that precious cultural heritage continues to shine within urban life.

A Letter to My Past Self: An Experimental Journey Through Time, Across Disciplines and Boundaries
In his book Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the Tenth Dimension, Michio Kaku states that superstring theory predicts a total of ten dimensions—including the three familiar spatial dimensions (length, width, and height), one dimension of time, and six additional spatial dimensions. He also suggests that by transcending the “flat” world and viewing the universe through the framework of higher-dimensional space, many of the laws of nature become simpler and more comprehensible.
